Rental Policies

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter. The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick-up location. An additional driver fee of 10,000 KRW per day applies.

The minimum age requirement to drive all vehicles is 21. There is no maximum rental age. A young driver fee of 15,000 KRW per day applies for all renters aged between 21 and 25 wishing to rent the categories Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard and Full Size, and any passenger vans. A young driver fee of 30,000 KRW per day applies for all renters aged between 21 and 25 wishing to rent the categories Premium and Luxury, and any Electric vehicles.

Vehicles cannot be driven into any other country.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional coverage that reduces the renter's liability in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle when no responsible third party is identified.

If CDW is not included in the reservation, it is available for purchase. If purchased or included in the rate, the excess is reduced to 500,000 KWR for all vehicle categories. The excess will be charged every time a vehicle is damaged, lost, not returned or stolen. If CDW is not included in the rental or is declined, the renter is liable for up to the vehicle's total value in case of damage, loss or theft.

Before purchasing CDW, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and to seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance.

One-way rentals are not permitted at this time.

We Refill—This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. The price per litre will be higher than local fuel prices.

Pre-pay Fuel—This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel. Pre-paid fuel is available at 5% less than the local fuel prices.

Customer Refills—This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is an optional coverage that provides the renter and passengers with coverage for accidental death expenses, accident medical expenses and accident ambulance expenses, with a maximum limit of 15,000,000 KRW for each passenger including the driver, up to the maximum number of passengers allowed in the vehicle. The coverage also includes accidental death coverage of 100,000,000 KRW.

All major credit cards, issued by either American Express, MasterCard, VISA or JCB, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Pre-paid cards, cash, cheques and debit cards are not accepted. In addition, if the renter has made an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by the renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction. A deposit is not required to rent a vehicle.

Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional 24-hour emergency service which includes lockout service (if the keys are locked inside the vehicle), jump-starts, fuel delivery service and flat tyre service. If no inflated spare tyre is available, the vehicle will be towed. The cost of a replacement tyre is not covered by RAP.

Before purchasing RAP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover these charges. If RAP is declined, the renter will be required to pay any applicable charges and to seek compensation from their carrier of personal coverage. RAP is not insurance.

All drivers must present a full valid driving licence. Foreign nationals must also provide a valid photo ID such as a passport or government-issued photo ID. In addition, all renters must present a valid credit card in the renter's name upon collection of the vehicle.

If foreign nationals hold a driving licence that is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licences from countries that are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.

Third-Party Liability Coverage (TPL) is included in all reservations and meets or exceeds the minimum required third-party liability insurance against death, personal injury and damage to the property of third parties. The coverage for TPL is unlimited for bodily injury and property damages, and is limited to 100,000,000 KRW for vehicle damages. Customers are liable for any damages exceeding this limit.
